Cafe Faith
Cafe Faith

Come for coffee or wine
and to experience the Divine!

Cafe Faith is just an idea at the moment. But an idea supported by passion.
Cafe Faith is intended to be a spiritual enrichment gathering for believers in the Eternal Spirit who wish to grow in faith in a casual, yet authentic environment.
Cafe Faith offers acoustic music to worship the Holy, open communion to all who wish to share in a sacred meal, and a keynote reflection or devotion to nourish our spiritual selves.

Who We Are
We seek to bridge the gap between peoples of faith and to foster interfaith relations within our community. While we come from the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we recognize that people experience and encounter God in a variety of ways and we aim to be respectful of all the many ways we can worship a God greater than any one belief system.
What We Believe
We believe in the freedom of belief. There is never just one way to do anything. There is not just one way to bake a cake. Not just one way to travel to Kentucky. Not just one way to play a song. And there is certainly not just one way to have a relationship with God. As long as that relationship is lived out in healthy and unharmful ways, you're alright in our book!

Beginning in November 2016, Café Faith will be starting a six-month series entitled Healthy Faith: Mind, Body, and Spirit. This series will devote two months to each category—mind, body, and spirit. The ministry will have guest speakers with backgrounds in the social sciences or medical field. Sessions will cover various topics including depression, anxiety, physical wellness, yoga, meditation/mindfulness, and journal therapy. Speakers will explain the science behind these items so that we may culminate a deeper and healthier faith. We aim to convey the richness of using the whole body for prayer and interaction with God, imploring what we know about the body for the Glory of God.
We hope that you will join us in the fall!!

Aspiring Ecclesiastic

Amanda DeWitt is the planter of Cafe Faith. She is in pursuit of a Masters of Divinity degree. After attending Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas for a semester, she realized she was too far from home and has now moved back to Kentucky and hopes to finish her degree at Lexington Theological Seminary. She has a passion for the earth and all that lives on it. Shalom!
